Your Journey & Faith

Michelle Arnold Lauer writes what she needs to say, no frills. Honest. Sometimes a little bit profane. She tries not to act like she’s got it all together.
She was born in New Orleans and raised down in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. As the seventh of eight children, that crowded house was a great training ground for crises. She now lives in Iuka, Mississippi, with her husband Dan and four spoiled pets.
Writing wasn’t a career choice. God & Ice began as a mother writing about one impossible week in her life. The writing didn’t come until long after the screaming stopped.
This blog is an extension of that first outpouring. A place to speak into the void about faith, about the long nights of trouble and crisis. It’s about finding God in the unlikeliest places, even when you’re barely clinging to sanity. Michelle knows what it’s like to walk through something awful and hard and still see God’s hand in it all. She wants to share those moments with you.
You may be living in misery. But you aren’t alone. Not really. Doesn’t mean your troubles are any less difficult. Doesn’t make your grief any easier to bear. For many of us, this is a cold and desolate place to live. You probably wonder, sometimes, if anyone else has ever been here with you. Not one of the most popular places to visit..
The essays you’ll find here were written in the same dark time which produced God & Ice. If what you’ve read here has touched you, encouraged you, or simply made you stop and think, the book contains the rest of the story.
